The ES-HT900-LCR-6 is the perfect solution for home theaters and family rooms that are designed with Camden CineCabinets™ or other custom cabinetry. The speakers remain tucked out of sight behind the grill cloth for a discreet, finished look. Another common application is to completely hide the speakers by placing them in a false wall behind an acoutically transparent screen, such as our AcoustiWeave™ line.
We've combined the strength of Kevlar® with the natural damping qualities of paper in a unique woofer material. A multi-step drying process during manufacturing enables these drivers to retain a natural, open cell structure that results in well-damped, neutral acoustic characteristics. The result is tighter bass with lower distortion. This speaker features two 6-1/2 in. versions of this driver, further enhancing low-frequency performance.
Of course in an LCR speaker, resounding lows mean nothing without equally impressive highs. That’s why our engineers paired the NCS woofers with a premium 4-1/2” ribbon tweeter. This high-efficiency tweeter features powerful neodymium magnets and a lightweight Kapton® ribbon for unsurpassed sensitivity, frequency response and linearity. What’s more, the dispersion pattern has been specifically tuned for home theater applications – with a wide horizontal dispersion to put everyone in the sweet spot, while limiting the vertical dispersion to improve imaging by reducing undesirable ceiling and floor reflections.
The ES-HT900-LCR-6 speakers were meant to be installed in custom cabinetry, such as the Camden™ Cinema Cabinet, or built into theater walls for discrete, high-performance sound. Some of the "tools" we included in the design of the ES-HT900-LCR-6 include front-mounted switches for Screen EQ and Boundary Compensation. Enabling the Screen EQ results in 3dB more output above 3kHz to compensate for placement behind a perforated screen or heavy grill cloth. The Boundary Compensation mode employs a shelf filter that will cut 3dB below 80Hz. This helps eliminate any "boominess" that may result from placing the speaker in tight quarters such as a corner or small cabinet.
The ES-HT900-LCR-6 speakers are designed to be used "standing up" with the tweeter in a vertical orientation. But we all know there will be installations where an 18" tall speaker might not fit. That's why we designed the front-mounted port tube and the tweeter to be the same size and shape. For tight spaces simply remove the 6 screws from the port and tweeter and swap their positions. Now the ribbon tweeter is optimized for the speaker to be installed "laying down". Perfect for tight Center speaker locations.
Support for bi-wiring or bi-amping to deliver premium performance and dynamic range in home theater applications. Connectors accept up to 12 gauge wire easily.
Want to use the ES-HT900-LCR-6 on the side or rear of the theater and don't have a cabinet to put them in? No problem. Every ES-HT900-LCR-6 comes with a keyhole mounting bracket. Attach the mounting bracket in any of the four pre-drilled locations for simple, safe and secure on-wall horizontal or vertical installation.
