Episode® 900 Series Home Theater In-Wall LCR Speaker with Dual 6-1/2 in Woofers (Each)

The ES-HT900-IWLCR-6 in-wall speaker brings all of the best features that our HT900 series line has to offer. A full-range speaker that is perfect for two channel stereo setup or front left, center and right speakers in the ultimate home theater system. You'll appreciate the clarity and detail produced at a low volume level, and a wide, natural sound stage at the high end. The combination of high-quality driver materials with our unique NCS woofer material ribbon tweeter offers remarkable performance time and time again in this HT900 Series in-wall model.

NCS (Natural Cell Structure) Woofer Material

We've combined the strength of Kevlar® with the natural damping qualities of paper in a unique woofer material. A multi-step drying process during manufacturing enables these drivers to retain a natural, open cell structure that results in well-damped, neutral acoustic characteristics. The result is tighter bass with lower distortion. This speaker features two 6-1/2 in. versions of this driver, further enhancing low-frequency performance.

High-Performance Ribbon Tweeter

Of course in an LCR speaker, resounding lows mean nothing without equally impressive highs. That’s why our engineers paired the NCS woofers with a premium 4.65" ribbon tweeter. This high-efficiency tweeter features powerful neodymium magnets and a lightweight Kapton® ribbon for unsurpassed sensitivity, frequency response and linearity. What’s more, the dispersion pattern has been specifically tuned for home theater applications – with a wide horizontal dispersion to put everyone in the sweet spot, while limiting the vertical dispersion to improve imaging by reducing undesirable ceiling and floor reflections.

Compensation Switches

No two rooms are alike. Floor coverings, drapes, windows and furniture all impact how a speaker sounds in a room. On this speaker, you can quickly adjust for bass boost on the woofers, or leave flat for Boundary Compensation and adjust the midrange and tweeter levels +/-2dB independently. In addition, the tweeter position gives an extra screen EQ boost of 3dB over 8 kHz for mounting behind perforated screens.

Configurable Tweeter Position

The ES-HT900-LCR-6 speakers are designed to be used "standing up" with the tweeter in a vertical orientation. But we all know there will be installations where an 30" tall speaker might not fit. That's why we designed the tweeter to be rotated for either vertical or horizontal use - perfect for tight center channel locations. There’s even a switch to optimize the crossover network for horizontal vs. vertical applications.

Integrated Sealed Backbox

No two walls are quite the same. They are different shapes and sizes, some have insulation, and they may be built from different materials. That's why our engineers designed a sealed enclosure made from rigid 3/4" MDF. Sure, this costs more than typical "infinite baffle" (or open-backed) designs, but the rewards present themselves in more predictable performance – meaning that both you and your customers will enjoy that same Episode® quality, time and time again.

An Installer's Dream

You may have noticed, we're serious about sound. But we also believe that high-performance doesn't have to mean high-frustration. Great care was taken to ensure these speakers install just as easily as our traditional in-walls. No amenities were overlooked, like integrated dog-toggles, wire channels and bi-wiring / bi-amping support for premium performance and dynamic range in home theater applications.

Frequency response.

The frequency response curve shows the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) at a 1 meter (3.28 feet) distance from the speaker at all frequencies (Freq) in the audible range 20 HZ - 20,000 Hz (20K). It is an indication of how evenly the speaker reproduces the sound from the lowest bass to the highest treble.
