Binary™ 220 Series VGA over 1CAT Extender
This Binary™ Single Cat-5 Extender for VGA proves that one VGA extender really can meet all your needs. With just one cat-5/5e/6 cable, you can extend VGA (WUXGA) video along and analog or digital audio to distances up to 1,000ft (330 m). With built-in equalization, signal gain control, and RGB delay control, your transmission path can easily be adjusted to compensate for poor signals, interference, cable quality, and long distances to provide the highest video bandwidth possible. As a bonus, the VGA RGB delay control function provides compensation for red, green, and blue signal timing issues due to long Cat-5/5e/6 cable runs. Digital audio can also be connected through SPDIF or analog audio through Stereo connection.

Outstanding Video Quality
It may be small, but this powerful little extender is capable of WUXGA display resolution at a hearty 1920 x 1200 pixels. This resolution is perfect for viewing HDTV content and can even support 720p component video signal.

Local Outputs for VGA and Audio
To make things easier for you, we’ve included outputs for both VGA video and analog or digital 2-channel audio, eliminating the need for an external splitter device. One device – many uses.

Audio Quality
Sometimes you need to keep your options open. This handy extender is capable of switching between SPDIF and stereo audio – and its all sent with VGA video over one cat 5/5e/6 cable. For your convenience, it supports 2-channel audio format.

Improves Poor Signals
With built-in equalization, signal gain control, and RGB delay control, you can easily adjust the transmission path to compensate for poor signals, interference, cable quality, and long distances – so all you’re left with is the highest video bandwidth possible.
Built-In ESD and Surge Protection
Intelligent circuit design, perfected through extensive hardware testing, has resulted in a robust product with excellent ESD and surge protection that exceeds CE Level 3 standards. During development, every connection was hit with ESD at 15KV and surges up to 1600V.

Audio & Video
- I am experiencing a momentary loss of picture when certain household items power on. How can I fix this? This issue is caused by electromagnetic interference. If standard connectors are being used on a shielded cable, change to shielded connectors. If shielded category wire and connectors are in place, make sure that continuity of the shield is maintained from the shielded connector on one side to the shielded connector on the other side. If the wiring is not shielded, consider running a shielded cable. See the HDMI Distribution Best Practices document for more information on preventing picture issues.
- Do your extenders automatically reset after a power outage? All of our HDMI extenders (1 cat and HDBaseT) automatically reset after power failures, restoring signal without the need to manually cycle power.
- Do you have to use the 568B standard with our non-HDBaseT-T extenders? While not critical for proper operation, we strongly recommend 568B terminations due to the amount of bandwidth needed to transmit HDMI signal. The pin out is printed on the bottom of each piece of the extender for easy reference.
- Why do you recommend using shielded CAT5 wire with your extenders?Shielded wire and connectors greatly improve noise rejection, which enhances performance and minimizes the chance of signal dropouts. See the "HDMI Distribution Best Practices" document for more information on preventing picture issues.
- Why do you recommend avoiding the use of RJ45 wall plates or punch down blocks with your extenders?Wall plates or punch down blocks reduce total bandwidth of the run, and allow for interference to affect signal more easily. See the "HDMI Distribution Best Practices" document for more information on preventing interference.
- Is it acceptable to use pre-made CAT5 patch cables with your extenders? We do not recommend premade patch cables because of the limited bandwidth resulting from the the use of stranded wire in their construction.
- Do the EZ style RJ-45 connectors really make a difference when installing HDMI extenders?Yes, they can be easily wiggled loose, causing a short or an improper connection.
