Powerful Performance

With 2.4 and 5 GHz radio signals running concurrently, you have more availability for traffic and less chance for a slow connection. With band steering, the WAP will automatically detect the best signal quality for each client that supports 5GHz and command the client to use either a 2.4GHz or 5GHz band. Auto-Ping & Auto-Reboot

Araknis WAPs are able to continuously “ping” the router to ensure constant connection between the two. Should it detect any issues (ex. DHCP not getting assigned), it will automatically reboot based on your settings. You can even set up regular auto-reboot schedules.

Spectrum Analyzer

During setup, you may come across wireless interference from other access points or appliances. This interference causes intermittent connectivity and network lag. A built-in spectrum analyzer helps locate this interference and assists you in determining the best channel for a WAP to operate.

Repeater Mode

If you can’t install extra access points, simply use repeater mode. Although this option will reduce throughput, repeater mode may be an effective trade-off for those tricky installs. Just provide both power and a network connection to at least one WAP, the remaining WAPs only require power.

Features & Support

  • What all can I do with my WAP using OvrC?
    Using the OvrC app, you can monitor the status, upgrade the firmware, view the client list, see visualized Network traffic and device statistics, as well as do basic configuration of the WAP. Basic configuration includes aspects like adding/editing SSIDs, toggling band steering, time settings, and IP settings. For most installs you won’t even need to access the local UI of the device in order to configure it; OvrC makes it simplified and convenient to configure your WAPs anywhere!
  • Setup & Installation

  • Why can't I access the WAP from the default configuration address? (config.an-100-ap-i-n.wap, config.an-300-ap-i-n.wap, config.an-500-ap-i-ac.wap, or config.an-700-ap-i-ac.wap)
    Check the following things to make sure you are ready for EZ Access:

    1. Disconnect any network cables from your computer.

    2. Make sure your wireless NIC is set to DHCP mode and has an address on the same subnet as your WAP.

    3. Check to be sure the network router has an active DHCP server to give your WAP a new IP address.

    4. Connect your computer to the SSID araknis_initial and log in to the GUI by typing config.an-100-ap-i-n.wap, config.an-300-ap-i-n.wap, config.an-500-ap-i-ac.wap, or config.an-700-ap-i-ac.wap into the URL bar.
  • Is my WAP OvrC-ready out of the box?
    Yes, but we recommend checking for new firmware on OvrC at the beginning of every installation to guarantee that you get all the latest features.
  • There are several MAC addresses visible in my WAP interface. Which one do I use to add it to OvrC?
    Use the “Eth MAC" Address, and not the “2.4G MAC” or “5G MAC”
  • What WAP models are OvrC-supported?
    OvrC supports the 100, 300, 500 and 700 series Araknis Access Points (AN-100-AP-I-N, AN-300-AP-I-N, AN-500-AP-I-AC, and AN-700-AP-I-AC)
  • Why is my WAP not saving changes I make?
    When you make changes to any page in the WAP interface, you must first click the Save button on that page. After all settings are complete, you must click Apply Changes in the left menu and approve the changes on that page before they take effect. We know it can take extra time to change a setting here or there, but this feature can save a lot of time when completing first time setup. Time is saved because you can apply settings all at once instead of having to apply and load with each altered menu page.
  • Software & Firmware

  • Why can't I update my firmware through Ovrc?
    If you are having trouble with firmware updates or web UI access through OvrC, you may need to change network settings in the router or other equipment. Contact technical support for help.
  • Will my WAP have the latest firmware loaded when I order it?
    We always recommend checking the firmware version before installation (and updating if there is a new version). At launch, the AN-100-AP-I-N ships with firmware 1.0.00, and should be upgraded to 1.0.04+ before installation. The AN-300-AP-I-N ships with firmware 1.0.01 or 1.0.02, and should be upgraded to 1.0.04+ before installation. The newest version is available for download on the product support tab, or can be updated through OvrC.

2-Year Limited Warranty

Araknis Networks® products have a 2-Year Limited Warranty. This warranty includes parts and labor repairs on all components found to be defective in material or workmanship under normal conditions of use. This warranty shall not apply to products which have been abused, modified, or disassembled. Products to be repaired under this warranty must be returned to SnapAV or a designated service center with prior notification and an assigned return authorization number (RA).
