The Episode Damping Barrier provides a PVC-free‚ low-cost sound control solution that reduces airborne noise up to 75%. Fire-safe‚ resistant to mold/mildew‚ and designed to help seal up wall enclosures to improve HVAC efficiencies‚ these barriers offer effective performance while providing a green solution customers will appreciate.
Low-Cost Sound Control
This barrier is the lowest-cost sound control solution to meet building codes. It significantly reduces airborne noise up to 75%, with a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of 41 on wood studs 16" on-center and a 56 STC rating on metal studs 16" on-center with R-13 installation.
Thermal Barrier
An acoustic barrier such as this also acts as a thermal break, helping to seal up wall enclosures to prevent heat loss improving the overall efficiencies of the HVAC system (R-value =.3)
Fire Safe
The Episode Sound Damping Barrier has a Class A rating in flame and smoke tests, and is resistant to mold and mildew ¬– making it a SAFE product.
Moisture Barrier
This panel also acts as a moisture barrier (see local building codes where this can be used in your climate to prevent moisture build-up).
