It's a steel rod and keyed lock set for the SM-F-L and SM-T-L mounts to help deter thefts, and is designed to be for an easy install with the low profile nature. If you install a lot of mounts, especially in commercial applications, this solution is key to keep prying hands away.

The locking tabs on the Strong SM-F/T-L mounts are a fantastic method to keep mounts secured to the plate, but the low profile design can be tricky to get to and then lock. So we're killing two birds with one stone: a single, long rod that slides throughout the arms, and locking tabs that not only make accessibility easier, but use only a single lock to keep the rod from being removed.
Just because you're installing a lot of mounts, it doesn't mean you have to carry around a big set of spare keys for all the locks. We've made multiple panel installations a snap with a universal key that will work on every mount. In cases where a universal lock isn't ideal, any padlock with at least a 3.3mm (just over 1/8" inch) shackle will do the trick.

Strong® Mount products have a Lifetime Limited Warranty. This warranty includes parts and labor repairs on all components found to be defective in material or workmanship under normal conditions of use. This warranty shall not apply to products which have been abused, modified or disassembled. Products to be repaired under this warranty must be returned to Snap One or a designated service center with prior notification and an assigned return authorization number (RA).
