But what makes Insights really special is its ability to makes old cameras new and provides what NVRs cannot do.
Luma Insights was engineered to enhance a Control4 Customer’s surveillance experience by delivering highly anticipated features, including cloud-based video playback from the Control4 touchscreens and apps, and dynamic surveillance-based notifications that are more intelligent, personalized, and rich with contextual information. But what makes Insights really special is its ability to makes old cameras new and provides what NVRs cannot do.
Luma Bridge is the hardware device, empowered by the Hailo-8 Al processor, that enables our new Al surveillance platform: Luma Insights. Luma Insights leverages that platform to add Al capabilities, like image recognition and automated surveillance notifications, to Luma X10 and X20 IP cameras and the Control4° Chime Video Doorbell. Insights also provides 7 days of cloud storage for event-triggered snapshots and video clips and enables cloud-based video playback through the Control4 Touchscreens and Apps. And as we continue to develop our new AI platform, keep watch for new capabilities and innovative surveillance features made available through Insights.
Insights is easy to install, using only OvrC® to configure and deploy directly into a Control4 OS 3.4+ system in about 3 or 4 steps, and with no additional programming necessary. Luma Insights is the perfect solution for professional installers who want to offer their customers a cutting-edge security solution for new or existing systems.
Purchase includes one (1) Luma Bridge 4-Channel, and one (1) 3-Year Luma Insights Subscription License. At the conclusion of the initial 3-Year subscription, the Customer will be prompted to renew their Luma Insights Subscription with the purchase of a new License at the standard rate, currently $99* annually. Activation of the renewal license will reinstate functionality for the Luma Insights Base Plan (plus any additional licenses that were purchased to enable higher-tier AI functionality), allowing Customers to continue enjoying the benefits of the AI platform. Luma Insights adds image recognition and automatic alerts to the Control4 Chime and Luma X10 and X20 cameras using our new surveillance AI platform, empowered by the Hailo-8 AI processor.
Customers will receive a notification with a snapshot if a person or a vehicle enters a pre-defined Area of Interest, with a deep link connecting directly to a video clip of the event for easy customer viewing.
Snapshot and video clip-triggered events are automatically saved to cloud storage for 7 days. Clients can access clips through the History page on the Control4 apps and touchscreens.
Customers can easily find a specific clip or manage their event notifications, filtering by date range, camera, and event. They can even mute notifications or pin favorite clips.
The AI platform in Luma Insights is smart enough to know whether or not you have already been alerted of a triggered event. If you were alerted, notifications for the same event will aggregate over a time period, reducing the potential for duplicate notifications.
Customers can press-and-hold the Snapshot or video clip of a triggered event to be presented with options to share the Snapshot or video, jump to the camera's live view, or mark the event as a false positive.
The Luma Bridge driver auto-configures the push notifications with snapshots, and the inclusion of an X10 and X20 camera in History Agent all with zero programming necessary.
Luma Insights is fully functional in 3–4 steps, allowing Partners to quickly add AI functionality with backward compatibility for an impressive feature-add that customers will love.

Luma Surveillance products have a 3-Year Limited Warranty. The warranty includes parts and labor repairs on all components found to be defective in material or workmanship under normal conditions of use. This warranty will not apply to products that have been abused, modified, disassembled, or improperly installed. Products to be repaired under this warranty must be returned to Snap One or a designated service center with prior notification and an assigned return authorization number (RA).
